How does the Wellness Center work?
The Wellness Center is a computer program much like a word processing program on a computer. The difference is the Wellness Center resides on a very powerful computer server located at HealthFirst and accessed through the Internet. This gives school's many advantages.

The wellness center does not need to be installed and maintained on your school's network saving valuable computer space and management time.
Students, parents and teachers can access the Wellness Center and other healthyschools.net applications from your school's computer lab or from home 24 hours a day.

HealthFirst is constantly updating the Wellness Center to provide new health and fitness content and features. These updates happen immediately without schools having to install new software at their location. Because all the data is stored centrally, student records will move with them from middle school to high school enabling the tracking of information throughout the student's school years.
Because all data is stored centrally, schools can compare compiled reports to other schools within their district, state or nationally. Teachers can share information, ideas, curriculum and lesson plans with other educators all over the country.

What about confidentiality?
All student and teacher data is confidential and is protected with a password security system. If teachers or students wish, they can choose to answer assessment information as "Anonymous" not giving their name or other private information. This information is saved for the school to provide statistic reports, but is completely anonymous.

The HealthFirst servers are protected with the leading database management and firewall security systems to prevent any unauthorized access.
HealthFirst will not use any information except to compile national health and fitness trends and statistics. At no time will any private information be used or given to anyone for any reason.
